Sheryl Underwood is a savvy businesswoman and a multi-faceted, multimediaentrepreneur who is recognized as one of the most articulate, wellinformedwomen of our time. She is a much sought after entertainer andpublic speaker who is described as one of the world’s brightest contemporaryhumorists. Underwood is Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Pack RatProductions, Inc. and is the 23rd International President of Zeta Phi BetaSorority, Inc. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Underwood joined thetelevision show THE TALK on CBS for the start of season two, sittingalongside hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Aisha Tyler.The show averages over 2 million viewers per day. With Underwood at the table, THE TALK received itsfirst Daytime Emmy nomination. Underwood, who has received numerous awards and accolades, wasnamed one of the 10 most influential talk show hosts on Twitter in 2012.Underwood skillfully balances the roles of in-demand entertainer, business owner, movie andtelevision actress, radio personality and philanthropist. In 2008 she was elected the 23rd InternationalPresident of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She has the distinction of being the only full-time entertainer toever hold the sorority’s highest post.During Underwood’s tenure as International President, she worked diligently to strengthen thesorority’s partnerships with The March of Dimes, March for Babies, American Cancer Society, Text forBabies (a program with the Center for Disease Control), the American Heart Association and theAmerican Diabetes Association, just to name a few.Under Underwood’s tenure she spearheaded campaigns to support the survivors of the 2010Haitian earthquakes as well as those impacted by the devastating tornadoes that tore across the UnitedStates in 2011. She was the visionary and driving force behind the sorority’s Health Justice Town HallMeetings on Health Care Reform and the Z-Hope Health Center at the Afua Kobi Ampen Girls HighSchool in Trabuom, Ghana was completed and was formally dedicated on July 8, 2011 underUnderwood’s administration. The Health Center provides over 2000 students with much-needed medical services. Under Underwood’s leadership Zeta Phi Beta served as one of the partnering organizations of theNational Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) supporting the inaugural 2009 Sprite Step Off, a national stepcompetition that promoted teamwork, healthy lifestyles and scholarship.Underwood, through her company Pack Rat Productions, is currently raising money to supportthe 105 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the students committed to pursuing ahigher education. To assist in this endeavor she will use the services of The Charleston Group,Southerland Entertainment Consultants, Jaylite Publications, Rhue Still, Inc. and King Management andEntertainment, owned by Marcus King, known for propelling the careers of numerous comedians andR&B entertainers. Marcus has joined with Pack Rat Productions (PRP) as a producing partner over allPRP endeavors.Underwood has been featured in Ebony magazine, ESSENCE magazine, JET magazine,Entertainment Weekly and in other major media outlets and been a guest on numerous televisionprograms including Dr. Phil (CBS), The View (ABC). Underwood has always believed that a “rising tidefloats all boats” and has made a conscientious effort to include her colleagues of the fraternities andsororities that comprise the Divine Nine and members of Greekdom, in media opportunities that areoffered to her, including an historic appearance she orchestrated on the highly popular “Monique Show”on Black Entertainment Television (BET), as well as BET’s Celebration of Gospel and the NAACPImage Awards.Underwood is an actress who has appeared on multiple episodes of the Emmy winning CBSdaytime drama The Young and the Restless and has starred in such films as Bullworth (starring WarrenBeatty), I Got the Hook Up and Beauty Shop (starring Queen Latifah). In addition, Underwood was thehost of Black Entertainment Television’s (BET’s) Comic View and Holla, a talk show she created andproduced which was loosely based on Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect. She is a weekly contributor onthe Steve Harvey Morning Show, also serving as “guest host,” and appears on The Steve Harvey Project,the television version of the show airing on BET Centric. Underwood also hosted The Sheryl UnderwoodShow on Jamie Foxx’s The Foxxhole, airing on Sirius 106/XM 149, where she provided a mix ofpolitical satire, comedy and music.Underwood was the host of Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-Up and is aformer contributor to the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Underwood has appeared on the Dr. Phil Show,FOX television network morning show Fox and Friends, the Joy Behar Show, WPIX in New York City, The View, created by ABC News Correspondent Barbara Walters, OMG! Prior to her election as International President of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Underwood assumedseveral other respected and influential roles within the Sorority including twice elected Chair of theNational Executive Board, Graduate Member-At-Large, Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign Committee,Director of Honorary Membership, twice elected Pacific Regional Secretary and Southern CaliforniaCorresponding Secretary. Underwood was made a Zeta in the Great Lakes Region – Zeta Tau ZetaChapter, Chicago, IL. Her commitment to advancing her sorority led her into several leadership positionson the local level in Southern California including serving as President, First Vice-President, ExecutiveBoard Chair, Historian, Graduate Advisor and Charter Member of Omicron Rho Zeta. She exercised thiscommitment to Zeta while simultaneously managing her expanding entertainment career.
